We build the material around the application.

We design our compound formulations ourselves, to the customer’s requirements and specification.

Compound Design
FIG. 01 Compound Design

Rubber changes character with temperature, with the speed of the load and with the chemicals it meets.

In metals, atoms sit in a fixed crystal lattice and give a linear strength. Elastomers are made of tangled, flexible, irregular polymer chains, and everything the part is exposed to changes how those chains move.

At −40 °C the chains lose their kinetic energy and approach a glassy phase; at +120 °C the bonds between them loosen. Under sudden loads the material is stiff and resistant; under steady load it slowly changes shape. Against grease, the polarity of the polymer decides the outcome, which is why our dust covers are made in CR.

While series production runs, new formulations are mixed in laboratory-scale open and closed mixers and approved for the first series against the tests in the customer’s specification.
